The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and one of the most prominent opposition figures to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s government, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, widely known as Bobi Wine, has once again stirred massive reactions across social media platforms.

Through his official TikTok account, Bobi Wine shared a video showing him wrapped in the Ugandan flag, holding another national flag while singing a song by Rwandan gospel artist Israel Mbonyi, titled “Nzi ibyo nibwira.”

In the video, which has gone viral online, Bobi Wine appears calm and emotional, standing still as he sings the line:

“Ngaho mugende mubwire abababaye, muhumurize abakomeretse, mubabwire baze barebe dufite Imana itajya ihinduka”

(“Go and tell those who are hurting, comfort the wounded, tell them to come and see  we have a God who never changes.”)

Israel Mbonyi, who has become one of the most celebrated gospel musicians in Rwanda, currently runs a YouTube channel with over two million subscribers, making him the most-followed Rwandan artist on the platform.

Earlier this week, Mbonyi also released a new worship song titled “Unkebuke”, a heartfelt prayer that has been warmly received by gospel music lovers across the region.

Bobi Wine, on the other hand, first rose to fame as a celebrated Ugandan musician before venturing into politics. He gained popularity with songs such as “Kiwani.”

He later transitioned into political activism and now stands as President Museveni’s main challenger in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
